Job Summary: The University of Alabama System is receiving applications for the position of Law Fellow. This position will be based in Huntsville on the campus of The University of Alabama in Huntsville. This is a full-time, one year fellowship position from August 2019 to August 2020.


REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• J.D. completed prior to June 2019;
• Licensed to practice law in Alabama, has applied to take the Alabama State Bar examination in July 2019, or has applied for admission to the Alabama State Bar without examination (through reciprocity), and is eligible for such admission;
• Strong academic record as an undergraduate and law student;
• Experience with legal research and analysis;
• Excellent problem-solving skills; and
• Strong written and oral communication skills.



RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING
• Contract reviews;
• Standardization of forms;
• Subpoena responses;
• Responding to public records requests;
• Updating training modules;
• Updating internal office procedure manuals;
• Drafting and responding to litigation discovery and other litigation matters;
• Legislation reviews; and
• Legal research and writing.



Additional Information: The annual salary for this position is $50,000. Benefits include paid holidays and the option to purchase health, dental and vision insurance. This position is open to interested third-year law students and other qualified applicants.
