Job Summary: The University of Alabama System Office in Tuscaloosa is currently receiving applications for the position of Undergraduate Student Assistant reporting to the Manager of Facilities Operations.

• Must be enrolled in a UA System Campus degree program at UA, UAB or UAH.
• Must be registered for at least six (6) credit hours during fall/spring semesters.

• Covering the front desk during lunch hours and other times as requested
• Answering a multi-line phone system
• Greeting guests in a professional manner
• Copying, scanning, filing, and mailing documents
• Setting up and breaking down conference rooms for meetings and events
• Distributing packages and mail
• Taking inventory of and stocking supplies
• Making deliveries and handling courier assignments in Tuscaloosa
• Exhibiting a professional attitude with all staff, visitors, and other student assistants
• Conducting daily tasks in a welcoming, enthusiastic manner while prioritizing duties in a manner that allows for flexibility in responding to changing demands
• Ensuring all special projects assigned by staff are completed in a timely manner and taking initiative to provide follow-up to appropriate staff member on status of projects.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, hours vary by semester depending on office needs.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills on telephone, in person, and via email.
• Applicants available during Summer 2019 session will be given preference.
