Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; some early mornings, evening, or weekend hours may be required based on assigned project(s).


Job Summary: The Building Project Coordinator ensures that all physical facilities effectively support the needs of the college, staff, students, and guests. Maintains project portfolio, budgets, and timelines. Communicates with staff to meet resource needs.


Additional Department Summary: Coordinates various facilities and property projects for the College of Community Health Sciences (CCHS). Coordinates facility maintenance, as well as building project design, logistics, and implementation.

At the direction of the Medical Facilities Manager, works with various CCHS departments, UA construction and facilities administration staff, as well as contractors and other external partners to coordinate assigned projects and accomplish desired objectives. Assists with planning and development of prospective projects.


Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in construction, engineering, construction/capital project management, interior design, facilities management, or related technical field. Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student-oriented experience will be considered. To be considered, all student experience must be detailed in the employment section of the application.

Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Skills and Knowledge: Ability to manage and monitor multiple renovations and construction projects. Ability to read/interpret project plans, specifications, and other documents. Budgetary experience as it relates to construction projects. Mechanical aptitude. Ability to recognize critical issues and respond appropriately. Strong organizational and logistical skills. Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively, advocate for needs and expectations of College in support of project goals and timelines.

Proficiency in the use of personal computers and standard application software (word processing, spreadsheets and/or data base management), and graphical software. Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, using technical and non-technical language.


Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering, Building Science, Business Administration/Management, or related field. Experience with state bid regulations/laws, UA procurement procedures and policies.
