Job Summary: The Grant and Contract Associate II assists with proposal review, submission and tracking, award tracking, and close-out under minimal supervision. Assists with package preparation, data management, and reporting. Prepares meeting agendas, materials, and minutes. May provide guidance and training to other Grant and Contract Associates.


Additional Department Summary: Provides administrative, operational, and financial support for the College of Engineering's Center for Advanced Public Safety (CAPS) Research Center Director and staff to ensure smooth operations within CAPS. Oversees general management of the office and assist with grant management duties with some variety and complexity. Coordinates the Center Director's calendar, organize meetings and events, process purchasing paperwork, and works with a variety of software to assist with daily operations.


Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience in a business or legal professional setting; OR associate’s degree and two (2) years of experience in a business or legal professional setting; OR bachelor's degree and some experience in a business or legal professional setting.


Skills and Knowledge: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to efficiently and effectively organize work, processes, and time. Proficient computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheets, and records management applications. Ability to work effectively in a technical team environment. Ability to manage all administrative and operational matters in an office environment that has staff working in-person and virtually. Ability to work independently and exercise discretion and judgement to support CAPS in meeting the Center’s strategic goals.


Preferred Qualifications: Accounting skills and grant management experience. Advanced knowledge of UA administrative software applications such as Concur, BuyBama, Banner, Cayuse, TouchNet, MyEverest, etc.
