Pay Grade/Pay Range:  Minimum: $44,200 - Midpoint: $55,300 (Salaried E6)

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm; some weekends and extended hours.


Job Summary: The Academic Advisor I provides guidance to University students on academic progress, courses, University resources, etc. Identifies courses to be completed in upcoming semesters. Explains University and College policies. May teach compass course as needed.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher.


Skills and Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Public speaking skills. Computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet and/or database management. Planning, coordinating, and organizing skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures.


Preferred Qualifications: Experience with academic advising and Banner.
