Pay Grade/Pay Range:  Minimum: $19.33 - Midpoint: $24.18 (Hourly N5)

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm


Job Summary: The Grounds Equipment Mechanic performs general and preventative maintenance and repair on small to medium size gasoline/diesel powered equipment including mowers, tractors, and other small mechanical equipment. Works from schematics. Maintains service records. Makes service calls. Drives from site-to-site.


Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience in this trade; OR trade school certification and two (2) years of experience in this trade.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Must have a valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.


Preferred Qualifications: Welding experience.
