Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm; some nights and weekends.

Job Summary: The HVAC Mechanic III performs highly skilled work in operation, maintenance, and repair of all types of refrigeration, cooling and heating equipment, and refrigeration, cooling, ventilating, and heating equipment within assigned area under limited supervision. Acts as a lead worker. Trains and supervises other Mechanics. Interprets plans and blueprints. Drives from site to site.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and six (6) years of HVAC experience to include some supervisory or work lead experience; OR journeyman card in HVAC. EPA Section 608 HVAC Universal Certification. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to lift, handle, and maneuver the tools, materials, and supplies of the job. Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot blueprints, drawings, manuals, maps, schematics, and plans. Ability to do material takeoffs. Good people skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Good verbal and written communications skills.
